Contests for Jewelry Artists

Have you ever thought about entering a piece of your jewelry or beadwork in a contest? Well, don't wait any longer. Here are some contests geared toward amateur as well as professional artists.

 

Bead Star Challenge will reward the best and brightest bead jewelry designers from around the country with amazing prizes, professional recognition, and the chance to appear in a brand-new annual magazine – Bead Star!

All designs must be simple and m ust be created using simple stringing, crimping, and wireworking (simple loops, wrapped loops, jump rings) techniques, not beadweaving techniques (netting, peyote, brick, and square stitches, for example). Deadline: May 6, 2008

Swarovski Design Contest 2008

All designs must be new, original and not available for sale and must not have won any previous contests. All submitted jewelry, accessories, home décor and paper craft designs must consist of at least 80% CRYSTALLIZED™ – Swarovski Elements. The remaining 20% may consist of wood, metal, paper or other material, except other cut crystals than Swarovski elements. Deadline: May 16, 2008

Caravan Beads presents: Miyuki Challenge #2

Seed bead lovers, this is for you. Categories: jewelry, embroidery, sculpture (non-wearables), loom or off-loom weaving including but not limited to tapestry, or beaded beads (a set of four or more). Make your entry using any of Miyuki's 10/0 Delicas , regular and/or hex cut. Other Delicas—11/0s and/or 8/0s—may also be used—but at least 60% of the finished work should be made from 10/0 Delicas, which are all listed on the Caravan Beads website (they begin with DBM or DBMC ) and are available at many retail bead stores and from some on-line resellers. Deadline: June 2, 2008

1st Annual International Juried Jewelry Design Competition

Juried beading and design competition; what we hope will become the most prestigious beading contest worldwide! This will be the Bead Museum, Washington D.C. 's largest fundraising event in our museum's history! We aspire to capture audiences and artists from afar to introduce them to the wonderful world of beads! All Dolled Up – Fourth Bi-Annual Beaded Art Doll Competition

Create a Beaded Art Doll by manipulating beads and forms into an imaginative tactile and visual 3-dimensional representation of this year's Theme: Earthen Mother. Land of Odds is offering a first prize of a $1000.00 shopping spree on the Land of Odds web-site and a Runner-Up prize of a $400.00 shopping spree on the web-site.
