Repoussé technique using metal with Cathi Rivera
During the October meeting Cathi Rivera will be teaching the repoussé technique using metal.
The word repoussé is French and means “pushed up” from the Latin word pulsare
Chasing comes from the French word, chasser meaning to drive out, or to chase around which is what the artists are doing as they “chase” the forms on their metal in order to create their final design.
Please have these materials ready for the meeting in October. No materials will be mailed and you don’t need to sign up.
- Aluminum can cut open and flattened
- Stack of newspapers or magazine
- Wood pencil (no mechanicals)
- Image or zentangle pattern drawing design for inspiration
- Black acrylic paint and paint brush (optional)
- Paper towels for clean up
