Description

Jean Power will be offering a special bonus class for a maximum of 20 students on Thursday, February 6, at 1:30 pm in Atlantic Ballroom at Club Med.  The cost will be $50 and you need to bring your own beads (List of materials is below).

Karratu – Jean Power

This intermediate and very sparkly class will cover beading some unique & versatile crystal components that can be turned into bracelets, pendants, necklaces, charms, earrings, beaded balls… and much more!

The class will cover not just making the beaded bezels but also using them for making finished items so you’ll leave with lots of inspiration.

Level:  Intermediate – must be comfortable with Peyote Stitch & using small beads (size 15s)

Materials & tools

You need to bring your own beads. List of materials below.

This project is very size-specific and so needs Miyuki brand seed beads for it to work and has only been tested in Duracoat finish seed beads which are slightly larger than regular ones and so I recommend using them. The numbers they come in are: 4201-4222

For all variations:

¨  Beading needles – I recommend size 10 needle (explained in class) as well as a finer one

¨  Thread – I recommend a flexible thread such as One G, KO, Miyuki or Nymo.
However, if you are more comfortable using Fireline, and are happy you can keep your work flexible and easy to manipulate to make a beze, then please use it.

To bead one component:

¨  1 x 12mm Swarovski Square Rivoli #4470

¨  12 x 3mm Swarovski Bicone beads #5328

¨  1g size 15 Miyuki Duracoat seed beads (NOT TOHO)

¨  ½ g size 11 Miyuki Duracoat seed beads (NOT TOHO)

For a bracelet to fit a 18cm/ 7 inch wrist:

¨  8 x 12mm Swarovski Square Rivolis #4470

¨  96 x 3mm Swarovski Bicone beads #5328

¨  6g size 15 Miyuki Duracoat seed beads (NOT TOHO)

¨  1g size 11 Miyuki Duracoat seed beads (NOT TOHO)

¨  Jump rings & clasp of choice

For a beaded cube:

¨  6 x 12mm Swarovski Square Rivolis #4470

¨  96 x 3mm Swarovski Bicone beads #5328

¨  12 x 4mm Swarovski Bicone beads #5328
